Gene GAMSAT ("we", "us", "our") operates the AI-powered GAMSAT practice platform at genegamsat.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Account information: email address and, if provided, your name
• Practice history: questions answered, answers selected, accuracy, and timestamps
• Essay submissions: text you submit for AI feedback in Section 2
• Payment information: billing details processed by Stripe — we do not store card numbers or CVVs
• Usage data: pages visited, session duration, and browser/device type collected automatically

We do not collect sensitive information such as health records, government identifiers, or biometric data.

3. How we use your data

We use your personal information to:

• Create and maintain your account and deliver the service
• Track your performance and provide personalised statistics
• Generate AI feedback on your essay submissions
• Process subscription payments and manage billing
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, receipts, important service notices)
• Improve the quality of our AI-generated question content
• Respond to support requests and enquiries

We do not send marketing emails unless you have explicitly opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send.

If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes (for example, payment records which may be retained for up to 7 years under Australian tax law).

Practice history and essay submissions associated with your account are deleted when your account is deleted.

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:

• Correct inaccurate or out-of-date information
• Delete your account and associated personal data
• Complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe we have mishandled your data
